Project: Global Peoples' Convention

In 1999, a project was under way to organize a "Global Peoples' Convention", to be held in December 2000 in Geneva, Switzerland. In the end, the convention did not materialize due to the lack of support from the decisive activists, organizations and institutions.

On the following pages, the original concept is published together with some material on the question of global representation, from both a numerical and linguistic point of view. At some later stage maybe additional material of documentary value might be added to this site, covering the historic first such convention ever held, in 1950, in Geneva.

But I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
And the world will be as one."

John Lennon
