15th June 2023, Bogota/Colombia  -  Wishes 31 / 32 / 33

In the name of Peace and Justice.

I have three wishes today, which I present to you in the name of Peace and Justice - in the hope they may be fulfilled.

My today's wishes all concern drugs, such as Opium, Cocaine and Cannabis.

The production, selling and consumption of drugs is a multibillion dollar business. It's mostly illegal, and it generates untold billions of profit to criminal gangs and traffickers - and unspeakable misery to untold millions of users.

This is a sorry state of affairs. And a totally unacceptable one. It's a typical lose-lose situation, with no winners in sight - except for the criminals, of course.

So, in my view, something has to change.

My wish (my first wish for today) is that production, selling and consumption of drugs be totally legalized. In my view it's within each person's own responsibility to decide whether or not to consume drugs - just as everybody is free to decide whether they want to booze alcohol or puff tobacco. We're all adult people and like to be treated as such, nobody has to tell us what to do or not to do when it only concerns our own health. We want to be free to decide for ourselves what we eat for our breakfast and how much sugar we put in our tea.

To declare drugs as illegal is an act of plain stupidity. It changes nothing in the fact that millions and millions of people the world over do consume drugs - except for the fact that they do it illegally, with all the known negative consequences attached.

This has to change, this has to stop!

Which automatically leads up to my second wish for today.

To legalize drugs is one thing. But to set rules as to the production, distribution and selling of drugs is something else. I think there must be such rules, very clear, precise, strict rules regarding the whole process of production, distributing and selling of drugs. This must be under government control at any time to make sure there is no foul play in the whole process, with producers licensed and protected by law, distribution clearly regulated. and the end product officially declared, correctly priced and sold in licensed shops.

This would end all criminal activities surrounding drugs, and profits would go directly into government coffers instead of into criminals' hands.

Which automatically leads to my third wish for today.

What to do with all those profits governments the world over will garner in the future from drug business?

That's an easy question, begging for an easy answer - and this is my third wish for today: All these profits must be used directly, without any deductions nor deviations, for the benefit of people's health.

We all know that the consumption of drugs is not very beneficial for your health. We have to teach people this simple truth, from an early stage, from the time kids go to school. The profits from drug sales will be enormous, so budgets for such educational programs can be generous.

This, hopefully, will create a win-win situation, without any losers - even for the criminals who, hopefully, will find a new job (maybe in a government agency, why not?) in a brighter future, and who will thus find themselves on the winner's side as well.

Such are my three wishes for today, which I present to you in the name of Peace and Justice, in the hope they may be fulfilled.

In the name of Peace and Justice, thank you!
