20th August 2023, Kashgar/China - Wishes 58 / 59 /
60
In the name of Peace and Justice.
I have three wishes today, which I present to you in the name of Peace and Justice - in the hope they may be fulfilled.
My first wish for today is about border conflicts.
In the Chinese Region, there are many such conflicts, and they
all have the potential to break out into open warfare, at any
time. This is horrifying and totally unacceptable.
The main conflicts are centered around the areas of the East
China Sea and the South China Sea, involving Mainland China,
Japan, Korea and most of the Southeast Asian nations.
Another hugely explosive conflict looms in the Himalayas, where
Mainland China, India and Pakistan have never managed to reach
an agreement about the exact geographical and political future
of the area that was once known as Kashmir.
And then of course there is the ongoing conflict about the
question of "reunification" of the two separate parts of China,
Mainland China and Taiwan. It's a bit like a sick soap opera
about a pubertal affair between two lovers who eventually
separated - with the one guy still frustrated about the loss,
wanting to reunite at all costs, if need be even by force. This
is ridiculous, unworthy of adult behaviour!
In the interest of Peace and Justice, I'm urging all the countries and governments
concerned to sit together
and find a speedy solution to all of these disputes, NOW!
Which brings me to my second wish for today.
Within Mainland China there are several other unresolved
issues that have the potential of breaking out into the open and
causing havoc not just within Mainland China but at an
international level. I'm speaking about the conflicts and
oppression in Xinjiang, in Tibet, in Inner Mongolia, and in
Hongkong, amongst others. These issues stem from a
long-forgotten attitude of colonialism which has no place in
this modern peace-oriented world.
For obvious reasons, Mainland China claims that these issues are
"internal affairs", and no outside country should have the right
even to mention such issues, and certainly not to advance any
unwanted advice as to how to handle the problems.
The problem is: When it comes to global Peace and Justice,
there is no such thing as "internal affairs".
Peace and Justice is a global affair, not a national, "internal"
affair.
So it's my second wish for today that within the United Nations
General Assembly a resolution be passed declaring and confirming
that, for the sake of achieving a state of Peace and Justice in
this world, and when it comes to potential threats to global
security, there are no such things as "internal affairs" but
only global affairs that have to be dealt with on a global
scale.
And with this, I'm coming to my third wish for today.
Mainland China is a great country. It has known its ups and
downs, glory and humiliation. Today it's in a unique situation
where it can change the course of the world for the better or
the worse.
My wish is that China chooses to change the course of the world
for the better.
We all want the same thing. We want Peace and Justice, we want
security, prosperity, mutual respect.
My wish is that Mainland China take the lead in the pursuit of
Peace and Justice in this world. If Mainland China can make
peace with itself, and it can make peace with its neighbours, it
can make peace with the whole world.
We are one big family. And the desire of all for a good life
will be realized.
Such are my three wishes for today, which I present to you in the name of Peace and Justice, in the hope they may
be fulfilled.
In the name of Peace and Justice, thank you!
